In the 80s RENFE decided to create several trains for exhibitions and charter services. One of these trains known as "CHARTREN" was made up of four 15,000 series cars with attractive exterior decoration and internally renovated to serve as exhibition and dissemination spaces, equipped with computers and projectors that served to bring the latest technologies to any point of the railway network.
